1. The Overachievers: The Secret Life of Driven Kids

Read the review in the Globe, and it looked really interesting...'specially since it seemed to describe so many students I've had...tell me how you like it.

You forgot Sorcery and Cecilia!

Did you finish a Northern Light yet?

I finished The Overachievers today. I liked it a lot, and I think you would too. The main part of the book follows this group of kids at a school not unlike yours, SW. The author really delves into what the kids are going through in terms of applying to college, etc. At the end, she gives tips for parents, schools, colleges, etc.

She suggests starting the school day later to get in sync with teenagers' sleep cycles, among others things.

I did forget Socery and Cecilia. Did you read it yet? I finished Northern Light. It was amazing. Did you read that yet?

I started it and then got sidetracked by this other book, "Poison Study," that was also really amazing (it's sort of romance/fantasy, but you might actually like it). I'm going to go back to northern light now.
